BATAM, bhayaksa.net — An unidentified man was found lying unconscious on the side of the highway in the Barelang Bridge IV area, Batam, on Wednesday (9/2/2026) at approximately 12:00 PM local time. The man was first discovered by commuters passing near the entrance to Melayu Beach.

The timeline of the discovery began when eyewitnesses at the scene noticed a human body partially hidden under brush and leaves on the roadside. Upon closer inspection, the middle-aged man was found wearing full field work gear, including a mechanic wearpack, a hard hat, and work boots.

Several anomalies surrounded the incident, as residents found no motorcycle or any other transportation vehicle belonging to the man within the vicinity of the scene. Furthermore, no wallet, employee ID, or any form of identification was found on him.

An eyewitness stated that the man appeared to be completely blacked out and had not regained consciousness as of 12:30 PM.
