JAMBI, bhayaksa.net— The Embun Pagi Badaso (EPB) Mini Chess Tournament successfully wrapped up its third edition on Sunday, September 13, 2026. The local competition, held monthly since July 2026 at the EPB Chess House on Orang Kayo Pingai Street, Pasar Talang Banjar, once again delivered thrilling match results highlighted by one player’s absolute dominance.

Abidin first conceived this mini-tournament in July 2026 during a gathering at the EPB Restaurant. The competition was intentionally created to strengthen community bonds among local chess enthusiasts while fostering healthy sportsmanship and a competitive drive in a positive environment.

Since its inception, the tournamentโ€”which awards prizes for first and second placeโ€”has completed three highly competitive editions:

  • First Edition (July 2026): Dubbed the Yuslizar Cup, Winarno claimed the first-place title, while Zaharudin finished as the runner-up.
  • Second Edition (August 2026): Held as the Abidin Cup, Winarno successfully defended his top spot, leaving Abidin to take home second place.
  • Third Edition (September 2026): In the most recent Winarno Cup matches played this weekend, Winarno cemented his flawless streak by securing first place after defeating Rudi Siahaan, who finished second.

Winarno’s back-to-back victories across all three editions have become the main talking point within the local chess community. Despite fierce competition at the top tables, his consistent gameplay remained unbroken through the final matches this September.

Following established tradition, the entire event series concluded with a warm social gathering and dinner at the EPB Restaurant. Organizers hope this recurring event will continue to foster a vibrant and positive chess culture across the Pasar Talang Banjar area.
