MEDAN, bhayaksa.net— A heartbreaking and tense scene abruptly shattered the evening calm on Jalan Palang Merah No. 170, Medan Barat District, Medan City. On Saturday (3/10/2026) at approximately 5:15 PM WIB, local bystanders ground to a sudden halt upon witnessing a middle-aged man collapse and lie motionless on the street, triggering a wave of panic and public alarm at the scene.
According to data gathered at the location, the deceased individual has been identified as a 46-year-old male with the initials NPP, a resident of Jalan Paya Bakung IV, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency. The discovery of the body unfolded after local residents and the neighborhood chief (Kepling) grew deeply concerned by NPP’s visibly weakened physical state as he battled a severe illness. However, before further medical aid could reach him, he was found to have already passed away.
Reacting swiftly to the emergency that sent shockwaves through the community, the Head of Medan Barat District immediately initiated a chain-of-command reporting procedure. A formal notification regarding the discovery of the body was promptly dispatched to the highest levels of the Medan City Government—including the Mayor of Medan, Vice Mayor, Regional Secretary (Sekda), Assistant for Government and Social Welfare (Pemsos), and the Head of Bureau for Governance (Kabag Tapem) of the Regional Secretariat—to expedite administrative handovers and emergency actions.
Meanwhile, the sudden incident sparked significant traffic congestion in the surrounding area as a large crowd of onlookers and passing motorists slowed down out of curiosity. Shortly thereafter, medical personnel alongside local authorities arrived to secure the scene and evacuate NPP’s body to the nearest medical facility. Officials on duty are reportedly continuing their efforts to contact the victim’s family in Sunggal regarding the incident.
The sudden passing of NPP in a public space has left eyewitnesses deeply shaken, serves as a sobering reminder to the local community about the vital importance of civic awareness, and highlights the need for a swift community response when individuals face medical emergencies on the street.
