JAKARTA,bhayaksa.net— PT Pertamina (Persero) has reaffirmed its commitment to boosting Indonesia’s human resource development by offering young talent hands-on professional experience through the Pertamina Internship Program 2026.
The contract signing ceremony and onboarding event took place at the Pertamina WanitaPatra Building in Simprug, Jakarta, on Monday (Aug 10).
Applicant Numbers Surge Threefold: 539 Selected from 94,000 Applicants
This year’s internship program saw unprecedented interest from young job seekers across the nation. A total of 539 selected participants will undergo a one-year internship across various entities within the Pertamina Group.
These final candidates emerged from a highly competitive pool of 94,176 applicants, representing a threefold surge compared to the previous cycle.
The entire selection process was conducted transparently through the Pertamina Talent Candidate platform.
Pertamina’s VP of Talent Development & Recruitment, Muhammad Aryomekka Firdaus, highlighted that the contract signing marks a pivotal milestone for participants entering the corporate world.
”Today marks the first day our interns officially join the Pertamina Group as they sign their internship contracts,” Aryomekka stated during the onboarding session.
Aryomekka added that the program reflects the state-owned energy company’s dedication to offering broad career access to the public. Concurrently, Pertamina aims to absorb fresh ideas, innovation, and new perspectives from Gen Z talent.
Fast-Track Selection: A Proud Milestone for Participants
Selected interns expressed pride in standing out among tens of thousands of applicants. Putri Astrian, a graduate of Padjadjaran University (Unpad), shared that the selection process was remarkably efficient and transparent, taking roughly one month from application to final acceptance.
”I am thrilled to be among those chosen out of tens of thousands of applicants after navigating administrative screening and interviews.
Pertamina remains a dream company for many, and I look forward to acquiring valuable skills and practical knowledge during this internship,” Putri said.
Fostering New Energy and Social Awareness
The Pertamina Internship Program is structured to deliver systematic, integrated workplace training under direct supervisor guidance.
Beyond building core technical capabilities relevant to the corporate sector, participants are assigned to real-life practical projects.
Pertamina’s VP of Corporate Communication, Muhammad Baron, emphasized that the initiative serves as Pertamina’s avenue for cultivating “new energy” for the nation’s future.
”Through this internship, participants gain working experience in an enterprise that manages vital public interests. This experience will serve as a valuable foundation for their future careers,” Baron noted.
He expressed hope that alongside professional development, the experience would foster strong social awareness and community empathy among the young professionals.
